Program Architect - Infrastructure at Origin Energy
March 2011 - May 2012Origin Energy is undertaking a quantum change in the manner in which it sources, consumes and develops its core infrastructure supporting internal and external businesses, end users and customers. This required defining the end to end architectural model supporting strategic, architectural, and operational and services integration across multiple streams, service offerings and providers. As an architect, my focus is in combining the traditional Enterprise Architectural view of the future and the Business and Operational requirements of delivering a business and technology outcome that supports the organization at its present level of maturity but can be scaled to support the future state ambitions. Areas of Interest and Responsibility Cloud Service offerings including Infrastructure, Platform and Software as a Service operating within a rich co-existence environment. Cloud based service offerings that integrate with traditional infrastructure and applications models. Utilizing the services within "cloud services" that enable the business without compromising traditional delivery models. Includes consideration of the End User Workspace as the core to the user experience. Integration of existing programs of work into cloud and outsourced service offerings. Definition of operating models, integrations requirements, including delivery models, process integration and multi-supplier support models across multiple business units. Demarcation of application, infrastructure and security as core components of an end-to-end delivery model. Ensuring the network, infrastructure and security models meet operational standard and requirements whilst maintaining a pragmatic approach to in-flight and planned program services. Technology and architecture as an enabler of business outcomes rather than a hindrance to the agility all organisations need. Enabling a Service Orientated Architecture.
